When to choose TRV 40
- Your motor is 0.37 kW or smaller
- The application involves light, mostly continuous loads (no frequent starts/stops under heavy load)
- Output torque requirement is comfortably under 54 Nm at your chosen ratio
- Budget is a primary constraint and the lighter-duty rating fits your machine
When to choose TRV 50
- Your motor is 0.75 kW, or you're upgrading from a 0.37 kW motor that's struggling
- The application has occasional higher loads or shock loading (e.g. material handling with uneven feed)
- You want a higher Service Factor (SF) margin for longer gearbox life under continuous duty
- Output torque requirement approaches or exceeds 54 Nm
What if I'm right on the boundary?
If your calculated torque requirement is close to TRV 40's 54 Nm limit (say, within 10-15%), we generally recommend stepping up to TRV 50. The price difference (₹1,400) is small compared to the cost of premature gearbox wear or a stalled motor — and the extra Service Factor margin means quieter, longer-lasting operation.
